Little did I realize at that time that my incessant journey into the realm of quick mathematics had begun! I had taken to a passion that would be in my psyche for all times to come. As I was preparing for competitive examinations conducted by various public agencies which almost always require consummate mathematical skills for success, I found these techniques truly useful. This led me to look for more insightful articles and papers. The article left a deep imprint in my mind and I wondered as to whether there were other such techniques of quick mathematics. The article was based on a technique of multiplication evolved by Jakow Trachtenberg, the famed Russian mathematician. As he offers his reason for writing the book in his Preface we discover, ‘The roots of this book could be traced to the year 1991 when I skimmed through a small article in a vernacular newspaper on quick mathematics. His other books include “Avoid Silly Mistakes in Mathematics", and " How to Memorize Formulas in Mathematics" and "How to Memorize Formulas in Mathematics Book-2 Trigonometry." BE A HUMAN CALCLATOR is the result of his research in this field for the past 20 years. Indian author Rajesh Sarswat is a Post Graduate in Computer Science and worked from a senior capacity under the Government of India until he retired to pursue his passion for writing and teaching, focusing on mathematics and research on various techniques and concepts of quick mathematics. ‘Only by spreading knowledge does one expand one’s own sphere of knowledge.’ (d) develop their own tools in the field of quick calculations. (c) save some precious minutes in various competitive and school examinations by employing the quick calculation techniques (b) know the limitations of each technique (a) learn quicker methods by observing some simple techniques Ĭompare various techniques available on each topic By reading this book, the students will be able to: At the same time one could figure out as to which technique would work for one and which would not, again depending upon one’s set of circumstances and needs. It could help the reader in myriad ways depending upon his or her needs and scope for practice. This book could be a great resource for various competitive examinations and students in middle and senior school. It is rather a package of methods that if practiced and persevered with can churn up magical results! Many techniques mentioned in other books are pretty impractical and sometimes completely unusable. However, the techniques that you shall find in this book have been tested and used (not only by the author but by countless other people) in examinations time and again. There are plenty of books available in the market on faster calculations but more often than not the authors of such books had not tested the techniques they propound and promote in real life problem solving situations.
